Community is at the core of Sweet Little Sounds. Classes foster a strong and supportive community as students learn beside one another. Celebrating successes and watching friends grow makes for a truly enriching experience. We strive to make our space safe. 

Scholarship opportunities are offered to the

MEET THE TEACHER

Katie Keefe is a music educator who is super passionate about arts education. She firmly believes that music is for everyone and is dedicated to adjusting teaching style and lessons to each individual. One of her very favorite things in life is getting to know students, discovering how they learn best, and guiding them on their musical journey. 

Bio

Katie (Hurst) Keefe (She/Her) lives in West Seattle, Washington. She has been teaching music since 2001.

 

Education: Her bachelors in Music Performance is from the University of Washington, where she received the Milnora Roberts Scholarship as well as the Catch A Rising Star Endowment Fund. In 2007, Katie was the recipient of the prestigious Brechemin Scholarship while studying for her Masters at the UW.

 

Performance: Katie has performed with various ensembles, taking her on eight U.S. tours and three tours of Japan.

 

Teaching: She has worked with many schools in the greater Seattle area. Katie's percussion students have won numerous scholarships and awards.  One of her very favorite things in life is starting out kids on their musical journey. 

 

Endorsements: Katie has an educational endorsement by Innovative Percussion, the leading producer of mallets, and sticks. 

Personal: Katie is a mom of 2 (ages 8 & 12) and enjoys spending time with her family, in the most beautiful West Seattle.
